How to wake up early and love it.

Let me guess you're not a early person and never will be? FALSE!
Any one can become an early person. Being an early bird is awesome. There is nothing more unnattractive than a person who sleeps into the PM hours

There are many benefits to being a early person. Take for example this article by forbes.http://www.forbes.com/pictures/ehjh45khem/earn-better-grades-2/

When you wake up early you are taking advantage of everything while the world sleeps. The early morning hours are precious. They are prime hours for productivity.

So how do you start the journey of becoming a morning person? Glad I asked. First pick your target waking up time. It will be helpful to take it slowly. go 15 minutes earlier every couple of days till you reach your goal. The first Morning is going to suck. I can promise you that. Follow the steps below.
  • It is important to go to bed on time. Pick a bed time and stick with it.Make sure to be in bed at your designated bedtime. If you stay up till 2 and expect to wake up at 6 you're going to lose every time.
  • Put your electronics away at least an hour before your bed time. Yup, The TV, Computer, and phone. All of them. That bright little screen keeps your mind awake.
  • What are you supposed to do without your electronics? Read a book. Not only is it good for you. it will make you sleepy. Or do Rosetta stone. That stuff can put you to sleep like no drug can.
  • No taking naps. Yup. You won't be able to go to bed if you sleep during the day.
  • Prepare for the morning the night before.

How to prepare for the morning

If you wake up at your designate time and have nothing to do but sleep, there is a very small chance you will stay awake. Make an agenda for you to accomplish when you wake up. Plane something exciting. Make a good breakfast. Put your alarm clock across the room. Your chances of success are much higher if you have to get out of bed to turn off your alarm clock. Make a morning routine. Go to bed looking forward to waking up in the morning.

Also, Don't eat three chicken breasts right before you go to bed. They will keep you awake.

Uncomfortable

I found the answer to life. There I was, very comfortable. Do you know what makes me comfortable? Playing video games, eating candy, sleeping in and watching movies. I know what makes me comfortable, I could be comfortable for the rest of my life.

However, unfortunately comfortable doesn't mean happy. So if being comfortable doesn't make me happy what does? being uncomfortable? Know what makes me uncomfortable? Things of value. Waking up early, Taking cold showers, Things of discipline make me uncomfortable. They also make me productive.

Don't sit in your harbor the rest of your life. You won't grow. Make it a priority to leave your comfort circle. Nothing good happens there, I can promise you that.

Find what makes you comfortable and avoid those things. Then, find what makes you uncomfortable and embrace those things. Face the fears of talking to other people or whatever it is you're afraid of. Boost your productivity. Make your comfortable uncomfortable and your uncomfortable comfortable.

Until next time, Kirk

How to be an aggressive walker.

In august of 2013 I went to Ukraine . One of the first things I noticed was that everyone walked really fast and aggressively. While I was there I picked up the art of how to be an aggressive walker.

Why would you want to be an aggressive walker?

There are many benefits to beings an AW.

  • You get to your destination faster.
  • you display dominance.
  • You don't look like a confused dummy running into people.
How do you become an AW?
The firsts step to walking aggressively is to walk fast. You need to speed walk.

Second, Walk with purpose and determination. Whenever you realize that you are going to walk into someone you pick which side you're going to go on and you stick with it no matter what. This works because you are taking the initiative and acting before the other person.

You are basically choosing which path you are going to take and then playing chicken with them.

When you get stuck behind slow people (and you will!) you take the first chance you can to get out. This can be tricky if you have a group of people if they're not aggressive walkers. It is kind of like walking in a minefield.

Occasionally you'll run into people who are are on their phones and not paying an ounce of attention, in which case you either let them walk into you and be embarrassed, or you have to make the decision of which way to go again. Both are unfortunate.

Once you start walking aggressively you will soon learn how great it really is. Remember, walk swiftly with purpose, with boldness and determination, and you can be an aggressive walker too!

How to get what you want in life.

On Tuesday night I was enjoying my evening eating caramels and playing video games on my couch when my 2 year old sister discovered I was eating something she wanted. so as a 2 year old would, she came up to me and asked me for a "caramel apple". Being the jerk I am, I said no. She then demonstrated three steps to get what she wanted.

1. She was consistent. A lot more than I would have liked her to be.

2.She had patience. Everything wont come to you instantly. The longer you be consistent the more time you have to get what you want.

3. She seized the opportunity. As I moved in my seat she saw the place where the caramels were hiding. She snatched one faster than a fat kid chases a ice cream truck and she BOOKED IT! When life gives you good opportunities you take them. They won't be there for ever. Don't be a Mitch in a fast food place. ACT!

So those are the three steps to success brought to you by my sisters desire for caramels. Now of course she wouldn't have succeeded if she didn't have the desire. you have to have the desire.

So go out there and chase what you want.

Culture differences

I'll talk about the offensive things first, of course playing got your nose is a really bad idea. It is most places. Another really offensive thing to do is to tap someone else's shoe with yours, they'll get mad at you. Also don't let other people see the bottom of your shoe. So watch out! These next ones aren't offensive as much as they are superstitions, drinking cold water is really weird, they think drinking cold stuff is bad for your health, and it's not just water too, it's juice as well, ( not sure about milk)) but we drink warm juice sometimes. Whistling isn't offensive but they think you're blowing your soul out of your body or something, so they'll just look at you funny and tell you to stop. Also, it is bad luck to do anything between a doorway so be carefull when you offer your hand.

And that's about all I know.
